Our Story

Field Trip Theatre began as a group of theatre artists dedicated to producing new works by Washington, DC area playwrights. After completing three successful years of world premiere plays at the Capital Fringe Festival and presenting numerous readings at DC area bars, Field Trip Theatre has expanded our commitment to local playwrights by offering them the ever essential “first production.” We believe in fostering the great talent that exists within the nation’s capital through workshops, readings, and professional productions.

Our Mission

Field Trip Theatre is committed to supporting emerging artists through development and production of new plays that engage diverse audiences and reflect the perspectives and identities of The District. We value innovative storytelling and uncensored artistry that serves the diverse community of Washington, DC.
